I heard the game is on GOLTV tomorrow against Dortmund!! Is there anyone in the Denver area that would like to watch this at a bar? Or possibly any games in the future? Let me know! Let's go Eintracht!!!

Going into the pre-season, there are still several players that we need before we can have a solid season. Veh and Huebner have made it clear that we are in search of 3 new centerbacks and will most likely be after 1 more striker as well. So far I have heard rumors about some the following players coming in:

CB - Anderson, Caldirola, Chris, Demidov, Geromel, Sankoh

ST - Hoffer, Oehrl

I might have missed a couple potentials. What do you think we need and who do you think would fit the best... realistically?

Although the season isn't over yet, it is never too early to speculate transfers and hear some rumors. Here is something I saw on www.sge4ever.de : Remember that this is not all official, its just speculation.

Contract Extensions:
- Christoph Spycher (Defender) 2-year contract?
- Juvhel Tsoumou (Forward) long-term contract?
- Sonny Kitel (Under 17 Midfielder) Professional long-term?
- Halil Altintop (Forward) On loan from Schalke

Out:
- Markus Proll (Keeper)
- Jan Zimmermann (Keeper)
- Nikola Petkovic (Defender)
- Alexander Kruk (Defender)
- Habib Bellaid (Defender)
- Markus Steinhofer (Midfield)
- Faton Toski (Midfield)
- Nikos Liberopoulos (Forward)

It also stated that we will most likely have one new player come in. What do you think of this? Is one player enough to be able to play for a spot in Europe?

Are there any possibilities for transfers that you would like to see or see what others have to say about it?

cool thank you guys. am looking forward to three points!!!

Hey everybody,

I know the game isn't until the 9th of April, but does anyone know where I could go watch the game in New York City, as I will be visiting for a week?

Thanks

CJ

I do agree with just about every other point made. You are correct. We definitely lost 3 points.

Not to be mean here but I am a firm believer in having the two defenders inside the posts. That allows for the keeper to feel a little more relaxed leaving the 6 yard box to come and claim crosses or corners that should be his. Since Nikolov is pretty shaky lately and in the past. I would prefer to keep the defenders on the posts. However, I cannot stand the sight where there is a defender hugging the post or standing in front of it as that does nothing at all. The defender must stand a solid foot or two inside the post.

Michael Skibbe has got his striker that he wanted. Maybe not Theo Gekas, but Halil Altintop is at practice with Eintracht and they are working on a contract that will see the Turkish striker move to Eintracht until the end of the season with a clause to purchase the player. Will he do well enough to take Amanatidis' spot for now? I know no one is the leader and striker that Amanatidis is but I would like to hope that Altintop can perform better than Liberopoulos. What are your opinions on this? Add me as a friend on facebook =) C.J. Zitterbart

Anyone who previously sent me information if you are still interested let me know. I really wanna get this going

Steinhoefer went to kaiserslautern which is a very good move, as he would see absolute minimal time on the field in Frankfurt for the rest of the season. Rafik Djebbour, the Algerian national team striker is not coming anymore after both clubs had agreed before for him to come on loan with an option to buy. Now we have Primorac in the training camp with us, as a test player to see whether he is Bundesliga quality or not. I do not think that we should buy anyone else unless they are an obvious improvement and a stand-out player. We already have 26 points, why not let the younger players get some experience, who knows who might be the next Marin. After the Djebbour transfer problem that eventually made the deal fall through, there are new rumors that Skibbe is unhappy with Heribert Bruchhagen as of late, and he wants out at the end of the season.

According to a new article from Kicker, Michael Skibbe has planned to continue the season without a new forward. Is this the right decision? Without Amanatidis, Liberopoulos, Fenin, and Korkmaz, who else can play forward at the Bundesliga level? Right now it seems like we "only" have Alex Meier. Is this the chance for young talents to come up and show their ability, like Tsoumou, Hess, Alvarez? (just off the top of my head, I could be missing someone) Or do you think Skibbe is just saying this so we don't expect too much? On the other hand, Skibbe had stated before he will only get a striker that he has coached before, and now it seems like there are none left that fit the shoes we need to be filled. What's your opinions on this I would really enjoy hearing what you guys have to say!
#
We had enough people interested but we never got enough to actually go through with it
#
I think that Meier is an exceptional cam player. Obviously not world class but definitely good enough to be a starter in that position for Eintracht. Lincoln may be a good asset, yes, but he is not the answer to Eintracht's problems right now. Alex is sufficient enough to play center mid for now. Ideally, I think the attack should have liberopoulos and amana up top with meier sitting behind them as the creative distributor
#
NEW RUMOR!!

I know this was a rumor during the very end of the last transfer window, but supposedly Skibbe and Lincoln have met again. Lincoln, the ex-Schalker and ex-Lauterer may be on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt next transfer window. What do you think of this? Realistic? What would happen with Caio? Is Lincoln still as good as he used to be?

Both players have yet to play one minute this season in the bundesliga! Maybe tomorrow in Freiburg Umit will start for Chris who fell out yesterday after an injury. Umit has been in great form recently and has scored many goals and created many great plays in the friendly games. He came from Rapid Wien in Austria last year for 2,3 Million Euros and is now 23 years of age. Why has a talented, young player like Umit been sitting on the bench this whole time?

Last year, Markus Steinhofer played all but two bundesliga games for the eagles and in that time he managed to score 3 goals and also led the team in assists with 10 throughout the year. He came at the beginning of last year for 900,000 Euros. A couple of days ago, German sport magazine Kicker had an article about Markus and how he has not been getting the playing time he deserves and that he is starting to get frustrated on the bench. Why is this talent going to waste? Both players are young, offense-minded players and have a lot of potential.

Korkmaz is left-footed and can play on the left side of the field as a winger. Steinhofer normally plays left side but he played well last year on the right side. Steinhofer also has a great freekick ability which would really help out the standard situation problem that I have seen so far from Eintracht.

Not sure what the meaning of this thread is but to see the opinions of everyone else and see what you think about the situation.

I need everyone's contact information again that would like to become a member. An email in this format would make this much easier:

Name
Address line 1
Address line 2
Birthdate (MM/DD/YYYY)
Shirt size

Please send emails to SGEanhaenger@aol.com. I will wait a couple weeks until I will send the info to the fan division and then we will officially be a fan club. I will need ideas for the website and for other things involving the fan club so anyone please feel free to send me an email or leave a post. THANK YOU!!

This would have been a great scoreline and it is probably how the final score should have looked, but unfortunately that's not how it turned out. I must say for the first time in a while I was actually quite disappointed with the tie. I will be going to Germany wednesday and will be there for the away game in Koeln and the home game against Dortmund!!!!! LETS GO EINTRACHT!!!
#
In Oxxenbach, Maik was not fully healthy and Skibbe had decided to go with Russ and Vasoski. They played well and Skibbe decided to go with those two to Bremen. (A good decision!!!!) The starting two are in great form and Maik has no option but to sit the bench for now. In a recent interview, Maik said that he has no problem that he hasn't yet started because the other two are playing very well. I like the way Franz has dealt with this situation and it shows his maturity and team-oriented mindset that he has. He did get some playing time today which must have been nice but maybe we will see him start soon.
#
First I want to say that I am very excited about the season starting in less than 24 hours. Its very difficult to predict scores these days because so many things happen unexpectedly.
The way Eintracht played and won two years ago in Bremen was awesome, a 2:1 win to secure a place in the bundesliga for the next year. Last year was completely different, a 5:0 win which couldve easily been tied early if we hadnt missed a few early chances. I think the key to winning against Bremen is scoring a quick early goal and coming out with all the momentum.
A 2:1 win is almost too optimistic, but thats what I am hoping for. A more realistic scoreline would be 1:1 or 2:2 but we could happily accept any "lucky" bounces to give us the advantage.

PREDICTION: SV WERDER BREMEN - SG EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
                                    1             :                1
Lets hope that I am wrong though and that Eintracht can be victorious!!!!!!

Let's see some starting XI's and give your opinions about formations and choices. Let's do this given everyone is healthy and in good form....   !!!

I guess I will start:

---------------Fahrmann---------------
Ochs-----Russ------Franz----Spycher
----------Chris------Schwegler--------
-----Meier-----Caio-------Korkmaz---
--------------Amanatidis---------------

This is such a tough decision as i can make many different formations and have many many different variations. I think this formation is good for Frankfurt as it is very flexible, the outside midfielders can move back into a 4-5-1 when they prefer to play more defensive, and also move up the wings to be more like a 4-3-3 and become more attacking. Plus it always leaves a solid core of defenders to defend the counter attack which most teams try to run recently.
But I am a huge fan of Korkmaz and I think he is a great player. Fenin is also a good player and I know Skibbe will not play with only one striker up top, so my starting eleven will be a little off. As for Chris, he is a skilled player and is also a very important part of the team not only physically but mentally he controls the team and could have been captain. I am not a fan of Spycher at least from the games that I saw, but he is our new captain and I will still support him and obviously there must be some qualities about him that I have not seen. The only other question I have is the centerback positions. Marco Russ and Maik Franz seem to have the two starting positions as long as they are healthy but what about Habib Bellaid and Alex Vasoski? They could easily be starters and hopefully they won't be demoralized while sitting on the bench for a bit. Nikolov is a very good keeper and definitely has a lot of experience that is needed between the posts. The only reason I have Fahrmann over Nikolov is because Fahrmann looked very good before the season started and Nikolov has been known to have "nikolov moments."
