Alexander Meier abides with Eintracht / Frankfurt takes the young line (as)

#
Eintracht Frankfurt announced today that midfielder Alexander Meier (22) abides with the club as CEO Bruchhagen achieved agreement on his ultimate transfer to the club, after Meier had only been borrowed from Hamburg last season.

Within one year in the second league, Meier advanced from a talent to a starter, helping the team to promote to Bundesliga. Coach Funkel must be very satisfied with the transfer for he has always been thinking the world of Meier's qualities. Although Meier is still very young, he will now be expected to mature to Eintracht's new playmaker in the following season.

Alex' transfer was made possible after Frankfurt had improved their offer to Hamburger SV to roughly 650.000 Euros, in combination with Meier accepting a lower loan at the Frankfurt side as rumor has it. Meier had stated categorically that he would rather like to stay in Frankfurt than to return to Hamburg.

Meier is not the only young player in the team who could be one of Eintracht's key players in the future. This also applies to many of Meier's young teammates, such as keeper Pröll (25), who has already become irreplaceable, and field players Jones (23), Ochs (21), Cimen (20), Preuß (23), Reinhard (20) and Husterer (21). And there's even more who are also raring to go. Germany's World Cup squad coaches Klinsmann and Löw already complimented on the "young" line that Eintracht Frankfurt has taken.
