Greetings From The Crystal Palace Fans

#
Hello from England!

We have just found out from this website that Eintracht Frankfurt are going to play Crystal Palace in a friendly game in Fussen.

The Crystal Palace official site (www.cpfc.co.uk) has not confirmed this yet - we are still trying to find out from our club exactly what is happening.

The two main Crystal Palace fan sites are www.cpfc.org and www.holmesdale.net (the 'Holmesdale Road' is the name of a seating area in our stadium, Selhurst Park).

Our nickname is 'the Eagles' - the same as Eintracht Frankfurt?

We would like to know if we can travel to Germany and watch our team play yours in Fussen.  Any information about the Fussen stadium and tickets would be good.

Hopefully looking forward to a good away game!

Thanks,

Rich

Hi!
You "Eagles" have an cool atmosphere at Selhurst. I'll be there twice. Last time was the semi-final vs. Sunderland. Hope to see you and your lads in Füssen! And I hope to see Andy Johnson again in red and blue!?
Cheers,
Thomas

hello friends from england,

i`ve seen chrystal palace - sunderland in your stadium in 1995 (?) with my exchange student tom price. it was great. since then, I have a chrystal palace cup and I used it every day. I hope you`ll be more successfull  in the future.

I was at the semi-final game - it was a great night at Selhurst.

The Sunderland game in 1995 wasn't so great - I think we lost 1-0.

I also remember another game at Selhurst in 1995 when Anthony Yeboah scored twice for Leeds United against Wimbledon.

There are now a number of us flying to Munich and catching the train to Fussen.  We are staying in Fussen on the Saturday night.  Others are flying to Frankfurst or Koln and driving through Germany.

We will challenge you guys to a singing competition and a drinking one after the game in Fussen.

I am told that the bars / pubs stay open until 1-2am in Barvaria, is this correct?

At the moment, Andy Johnson is still a Crystal Palace player and should come to Germany with the team.

Looking forward to meeting you guys.

"I am told that the bars / pubs stay open until 1-2am in Barvaria, is this correct?"

The opening hours of Pups and Bars are subject to state law, quite restricted down in Bavaria, but 1 is the regular closing time for Pubs.

But I am not quite sure if this applies for Füssen as well, because this is more or less an recreation or health resort. I think it depends on the host when they will close.

Funny if I think about Chrystal and Eintracht supporters running across the tourist town Füssen....

For example, my grandfather stays there for two weeks every year for a cure, so this is probably the clientel You will meet there.

If You folks stay over in Munich, don´t hesitate to post, if You should have any questions - I live in Munich....

Unfortunatly it will nat be possible for me to see the match, but would love to see some Fans from the island and have a drink with them - but see You in the UEFA Cup....

Cheers,

Gerrit

I'm a Palace fan living in Basel, Switzerland and will try to make it to the game.  Looks like the stadium is to the east of the town alongside the river Lech.  The local FC-Fuessen play there.  The street name is Rotwandweg (red wall way so we need to make this Rotundblauwandweg!) and just below it on the map you will see the Sportanlagen (sports centre).  Here's a link to a pdf map of the town: http://www.stadt-fuessen.de/fileadmin/fuessen/images/stadtplaene/Stadtplan.pdf

Hope a to see a few CP fans there!

ciao for now,

Simon

Thanks for the map and info.

I'm not sure who will win.  At the moment, apart from selling Wayne Routledge to Tottenham, we still have the same team that was relegated on the final day.  It is a friendly and with 2 weeks to go until the new season, our team will not be fully fit.  When does the new season start in Germany?

Quite a few Palace fans will be making the trip with most staying in Fussen on Saturday night.

Season starts on 7th of August, I have just been to a friendly match of our Eagles in Augsburg and one could see that they were tired of the hard training....

So probably the more interesting thing will be to meet some Frankfurt Supporters there, the match will be secondary....
