Eintracht Training Away From Frankfurt

Under-fire Eintracht Frankfurt coach Friedhelm Funkel has taken the unusual decision to retreat his team to a out of town training camp in preparation for the Bundesliga clash against Karlsruhe on Wednesday.

"We just wanted to get away from Frankfurt and find some peace," explained Funkel, whose team is the only one left in the league that are still without a win.

"It would certainly help us to go ahead, which has only happened to us once this year, in Wolfsburg," he added.

"In the last two games we have fallen 1-0 behind very quickly and it is only normal the fans become impatient - we only have ourselves to blame, but that can soon change.

"The fans have given a great backing to this team over the years, but things have not been going well for eight weeks now so it is normal that our followers vent their fury.

"Still, on Wednesday we want to avoid going behind at all costs and the team will do all it can."

The 2-0 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend was Frankfurt's fourth defeat in seven games and left them rooted to the bottom of the table.
