Eintracht sigend a forward on loan, the 21 year old Leonard Kweuke. He's joining from DAC Dunajská Streda (slowakian top flight) and has taken part in the Olympics for Cameroon. Signed til 30.06.2009 on loan, with an option to get him on a contract afterwords. height 1.88m, this season 11 goals in 16 games.

Could be the additional striker we're looking for, coming from the bench as Amantidis is out long term, and Fenin and Lieborpulos first choice strikers.

Early christmas maybe?

Maybe, I hope so

I wonder, don't we have any supporters in Cameroon or in Slovakia? They might know more about him. Anyway, there is also some information about him on UEFA.com.

1,Did anybody know who Sanogo was before he came to K'Lautern ?
2,Who was JJ Okocha before he came to Frankfurt ?
3,Were Marek Mintal and Sestak also from the same weak league ?
4,Are you not the same people who doubted the qualities of Ochs when
 Entracht signed him?
5,Who knew Gekas would be the top scorer when he came to Bochum?
7,Did you ever know that Hoffenheim signed Ibisevic from relegated Aachen?
8,Who were Demba Ba and Chenedu Obasi b4 they came to Hoffenheim?

Just because Serge Branco did not impress in Frankfurt, does not mean the young lad wont  make it in the Bundesliga. Whats the need of dumping millions of Euros for a player like Gekas and later on regret like Dortmund with Valdez or Schalke  with Ze Roberto. If Werner Lorant is the coach of the player, then I bet he knows the qualities of the player better.

Please give the young lad a chance. If he will be ambitious, hard working and
diciplined then he will suprise many of you with wonderful goals.

I totally agree with you
But he will probably need some time to fell a bit home in Frankfurt and that could be a problem because he will only have about six month.
In my opinion he will make a big impact and scores a lot of goals and then we will sign for 4 years.

Anybody familiar with African soccer knows that africans has their soccer prowess on the attack. Thats why you will find world class strikers from Africa like Etoo,Drogba,Kanoute,Roger miller,George Weah and Yeboah, just to mention a few. But the list of African world class  defenders is very short. Serge Branco was a defender, thus it is completely insane and dubious to compare Leo to Serge. Sestak hit the limelight at his very first games for Bochum, yet he came from the very same weak league. If Eintracht would have signed Sestak two years ago, I bet alot of Frankfurt supporters would have questioned his abilities. Leo played in a region with the same weather conditions as Germany and more better under an iron hard German coach Werner Lorant. I do not think he needs a long duration to familarise with the German league, weather and mentality  like Mantzios.

those who can read german should check out the interview with werner lorant.. he says the kid has absolutely everything and is a better striker than Mario Gomez from Stuttgart and Grafite from Wolfsburg.. He also said he is better than the Croatians in Hamburg..  Interesting stuff? Do you believe him? He must know what he is talking about but those are some big expectations to live up to.

Who knows? Most of African top fowards  emerge from no where only to be top world class strikers. If you follow up the history of Drogba, you wont believe it .Olympic Marseille discorvered him very late. Many of African strikers start their career with peanuts either in Belgium or France.  Fact is,  strikers from Nigeria,Cameroon and Ivory coast should not be underated. Genetic they are very fast, strong and are gifted with an incredible ball technick.

the werner lorant interview must be treated with care i reckon. surely he also took the opportunity to let loose some strong words in the german media to remind everyone in the bundesliga that he's still out there in case any vacancies re coaching jobs come up. we heard a lot of praise re youngsters and their abilities before, but for whatever reasons they did not make it, others though made it with noone expecting their break through.

i think this Leo or Lenny (or how should we call him? smile: sounds very promising and is no risk in terms of financials so it would somehow be stupid not to give it a go. but let's please not expect a new Yeboah for now - if he comes out surprising us in a positive way - hey who would be disappointed in that case?

am looking forward to seeing him play, and i also like the return to a multi cultural outlook in our team - united colors of bembeltown!

cheers

I agree, this could (fingers crossed) be a find but we should not make predictions.  I think to often we, as fans, put unrealistic expectations on young players and then they never live up to him.  The write ups on the net look promising though.  It looks like he could also me a central attacking midfielder or am I wrong in this.  Also, I think his height will be a good addition especially on set pieces.

It is a good position that he is in as he will not be looked upon to start right away so that with some time and minutes at the end of matches (hopefully wins!!   ) he will come along.
