The discusion is always Meier or Ciao, who between the two should wear the first jersey, but if you watch Eintracht's match, the dilemma should be Meier or Libero. On statistics, Libero is fielded as a striker but if you watch him play he is more an attacking midfielders with finishing qualities like Meier. Ciao plays a much more different game from the two, Ciao can dribble under tight marking, attract more defenders, thus enable strikers to position themselves and with one move he can pass the ball to the best positioned striker. My opinion it should be Meier or Libero ,-)
Meier is a proven quantity and as long as he is healthy I am guessing Her Funkel would pick him with Ciao off the bench almost any day. That would be my preference as they definetly controlled the ball and we much more the active side vs. Berlin and this is what I predict for Koln. Meier is much more consistent and can play on both sides of the pitch.
On a side note, I would prefer to see offensive startegy a Lahm type fullback that can make those long runs forward. I am not sure that we have someone like that but could Ciao or meier be able to do this? I dont think Ciao is capable but maybe Meier. Just wondering.
Also, anyone know why Proll was pulled and any comments on how Zimmerman played. Would be interested to hear others input.
Pröll got a minor injury while tackling berlins forward outside the penalty area. He has even a little chance of being in the game against Cologne.
Zimmermann played very well to my mind. "He took the gloves". I really liked to watch him catching a high cross from a wing player near the 18 yards line inside the penalty-box. I nearly forgot that this is still an option for a keeper

Getting back to the original question, I have been think about this and I definetly would go with Meier as a starter. He can stretch the field much better horizontally and that is something that I think we need to do better to create mismatches with Fenin and Libero. Ciao would be great to add inot the mix but who do you sit. I guess you could play 5 midfielders but then you have to sit either Fenin or Libero which I would not.
