Borussia Dortmund will equal their club record for the longest winning run with a victory over Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow. The Dortmund side set their current record of six successive wins in the 2001/02 season.
Jurgen Klopp's side have triumphed in their last five matches, and the coach is keen to continue that run.
"I have never won six straight, I have only lost seven in a row,'' Klopp said.
"The winning streak makes us feel good, but it doesn't help at all if the focus is not on the next match.
"We must not give up the good position we have earned in recent matches. The team realise their investment is paying off.''
The winning run has moved seventh-placed Dortmund within five points of a Europa League spot.
"We will try all we can to generate an extra income for the club (by playing in Europe),'' club captain Sebastian Kehl said.
With Mats Hummels the only absentee due to an ankle injury, Klopp is expected to field the same starting line-up for the fifth match in succession.
Eintracht coach Friedhelm Funkel has a far bigger selection headache, though.
Christoph Preuss, Aleksandar Vasoski, Juvhel Tsoumou, Benjamin Kohler (all knee), Leonard Kweuke (hip), Ioannis Amanatidis (unfit), Junichi Inamoto (calf), Ellery Caio (thigh) and Kreso Ljubicic (broken nose) are all unavailable.
In addition, Patrick Ochs and Michael Fink are suspended.
The injury situation has left Funkel in defiant mood.
"We will find 15 players for the teamsheet,'' he said.
"We have every chance of beating Dortmund. They are not a vastly superior team.''
Frankfurt are sitting in 11th spot, seven points above the drop zone.
