BERLIN (AFP) - Greece striker Ioannis Amanatidis is expected to be out for the next four weeks because of a knee injury, his Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt revealed on Monday.
The 27-year-old needs an operation on his right knee to remove damaged cartilage which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for the next four weeks.
"Ioannis will be out for a while, we don't know how long exactly, but we have a rough idea," said Frankfurt's chairman Heribert Bruchhagen.
Amanatidis missed Sunday's 2-1 Bundesliga win over Bochum which leaves his side ninth in the league.
Although it is not the end of the world, it really puts additional pressure on the front 3.
Nevertheless, don´t forget: we are still a club situated in the midfield of the 1st division!
Is there any other club in a position to compensate the failure of injured players the way as eintracht did in the past...?
I´m afraid there isn´t any...
My proposal - adressed to sir michel platini - is the following:
Let this be a good reason to be qualified for Europe next year!!!!
(.....instead of the winner of any obscure fair-play-competition...)
