Hello, I am travelling to London on the 22th January. I want to visit a football match in London and need some advises, where I can get cheap tickets. Teams of the match are not important, I just want to visit a match in England.
The other ones will be easy to get tickets on the day at the stadium as will not be sold out.
The games that weekend are not very good!
These are good notes by dc-edinburg but I'd like to add some more comments so you can be careful on the 22nd of January and not get caught out.
To get official Arsenal FC tickets you have to pay sterling £30 just to join as a Red Club Member. All you get for this £30 fee is a place in the queue for tickets...I think this very wrong...you can wait for months & months before a ticket is made available to you.
You can buy official tickets safely on the Web but the prices are completely stupid:-
Beware that some Websites are illegal "Scams" and Phishing sites who will take your money and never give you a ticket.
It is not a good idea to buy a ticket from a "Tout" outside the ground. They will charge you a £50 deposit fee to use an electronic gate entry card which you have to give back to the "Tout" after the game is finished to get your £50 deposit back. On top of this they will try to charge you maybe £100 or more for entry to the game with this card !!!!!
Arsenal security also use surveillance CCTV cameras to spot people making deals with "Touts". If security then catch you at the gate they won't let you in (you will loose the £100 you paid the tout and your deposit of £50 !!)
These are only some of the reasons that I now come to the Waldstadion to enjoy my football. Other than Eintracht Frankfurt are simply the greatest Club in the World.

You can also check out Charlton Athletic who are a welcoming club in South East London, playing at 'The Valley'. As they play in the Football League 1 (which is the third English division, confusing I know..) it might be easier to get tickets and less expensive.
They will play Plymouth Argyle on the weekend you're in London:
I used to go there a lot when I was in the UK and always enjoyed it, I have seen a game v Plymouth also who had pretty loud support back then . Greenwich is not far for beers after the game, but trains into the center (London Bridge) are also an option.

Arsenal tickets v Wigan - https://www.eticketing.co.uk/arsenal/details/event.aspx?itemref=4780 you might have to regiser or be a member but I think there would be people selling them around the stadium on matchday for this game.
