Planning a trip to Eintracht - ticket advice needed

#
Hi
A friend and I are planning a trip over to see Eintracht vs Bochum on Saturday 6th December - and we'd really like to get standing tickets ('Stehplatz'? - our German is admittedly terrible!) - we both hate sitting down at football and are forced to do it in the UK.

Can anyone here advise on the ticket-buying process?

cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
it will be difficult to get standing tickets in the Frankfurt supporting area as nearly all tickets are sold as season tickets. The only possibility I see is to buy a seat on the West-tribuene. There is more standing than sitting. Or you have to try for the Bochum area. It's up to you.
#
Thanks TEHL - a few further questions

You say 'nearly all' are STs - what happens to the few tickets that aren't - do they go on general sale from the website, or if not, from where?

If, in the unlikely circumstance I wanted to get tickets for the Bochum standing section, how would I do that - I had a look at their online ticket site and it only offered home tickets?

Sorry for all these questions - I am a complete novice re: Bundesliga ticket distribution!
#
i think the few standing tickets which are no season tickets are sold out..
if you want to go to the guest area you can look at bochums page http://www.vfl-bochum.de/webcache/index_en.htm
but seats on our side are also good and you can normally stand

Click on the following link:

The red circles show you what to do.

Tickets -> Tickets kaufen -> sector (I recommend: "Westkurve" -> block -> row and seats -> order is being checked -> register (e-mail-adress and password) -> paying procedure

Hi Chris,

first of all, it will definitely not be sold out so you could come without a ticket.

The few standing tickets (Stehplatz) which are no season tickets are only sold in two shops in Frankfurt, not online.

Tickets for the Bochum away block should be available via their website/club administration. Some may still be available on the same day at the away booth in Frankfurt ("Gästekarten").

Other options, you could
-ask around for standing tickets in front of the stadium
-go for the upper stand (Oberrang) in the Westkurve - people are mainly standing there.
-get a ticket for eg. 42E/F/G and try to merge into the standing area (with these tickets you are allowed to pass the standing area in order to go to the toilet, with only a 50cm wall between you and the fans, and being foreign who could blame you for getting lost?)

In any event, enjoy the match and help us beat Bochum!

forgot one option - post a search notice in this forum

Hey mate,

just curious: which club are you supporting in the UK?
If you really come over, drop me a personal message to have some beers before kick off.

Cheers!

Thanks for all your help - we are primarily Watford FC fans, though we also watch Barnet FC too... and we'd certainly like to meet up for a beer pre-match!

Chris,

I strongly advise to get a ticket on "Westtribuene". Even though these are seats, many people stand to support. If a person buys a ticket for this area via the online shop, he/she has to agree to Eintracht Frankfurts's official terms & conditions which are clearly mentioned:

"Die Westtribüne (Blöcke 31 – 41) ist der Heimfanbereich von Eintracht Frankfurt. Außerdem besteht in diesen ausgewiesenen Bereichen unter Umständen Sichtbehinderung durch das Schwenken von Fahnen oder durch stehende Fans. Reklamationen oder Ersatzansprüche aufgrund dieser Einschränkungen sind ausgeschlossen. "

Which translates into something like that:

"The Westtribuene (blocks 31 - 41) is the home fan area of Eintracht Frankfurt. We would like to point out that there might be limited view/sight on the pitch due to swivelling of flags or standing fans in these areas. Complaints or claims due to these restrictions are impossible."

So be assured that you don't have to sit on your bum all match.

Hello Everyone. My name is Wouter, I come from Belgium (Mechelen) and I'm planning a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt on November 9th (against Stuttgart). Is it possible to buy the tickets online (for me and 4 friends) and then come to the stadium (without extra ID-cards?) to see the game? Do we need extra cards (like a fancard or our identity card), because in Belgium we need to buy tickets with ID-registration.

Could somebody help me please? wootie11@hotmail.com

Thanks a lot.

Yes, it is a great club, KV Mechelen. I have a season ticket...
Hopefully we can build on a team who will gain trophies again (like the 1980's)...

Hopefully Eintracht will be interesting too
