Friedhelm Funkel has yet to decide whether Oka Nikolov or Markus Proll will feature in the must-win home game against 17th-placed Energie Cottbus. Having changed the starting goalkeeper three times already this season, Funkel said he will wait until match day to make a final decision.
"Sometimes things have happened during the night so I will take my time with this,'' Funkel said.
Three weeks ago he had named Nikolov as starter for the rest of the season, only for him to suffer a thigh injury.
"I am fully fit again and I want to regain my starting spot,'' Nikolov said.
Frankfurt are currently 12th in the table and looking to further distance themselves from the drop zone, but Cottbus goalkeeper Georg Tremmel knows that Saturday's clash will be a crucial one for the East Germans.
"This match day can point the way for the remainder of the season,'' he said.
"Bielefeld play Schalke, Gladbach face Karlsruhe; if things go badly, we could be five points behind the 16th spot.
"But if things go well we will be one point above the drop zone. This certainly is a six-point weekend.''
Cottbus will be without injured trio Mariusz Kukielka, Vragel da Silva and Marco Kurth but skipper Timo Rost is expected to shake off ankle problems in time to feature.
Eintracht will be missing Aleksandar Vasoski, Ioannis Amanatidis, Christoph Spycher, Christoph Preuss (all knee) and Leonard Kweuke (thigh).
Nikos Liberopoulos looks set to return to the starting XI following a toe injury.
I sure hope he goes with Oka, I have more confidence when he is in goal. Also, it will be nice to see Libero back up top, maybe he can score a couple and take the 5 pointer for the Adler.....
