Obviously it would depend on the cost involved.  But I think I would be interested, maybe an english language radio show also that would be cool.

Make sure that there is an app or maybe even downloadable via itunes.

Always a good correction when you can add three points to the tally!!!!

As for Clarke, I know him from going back to his college playing days and also with his time with the Dynamo.  He is a def midfielder that can move forward, good spped and vision.  I was never really sold on his on ball skills though.  The rumor is that he will be key in the US' plans for the world cup in holding down the def with Onyewu on the sidelines.  He is known for his physical style and should mix well with Herr Franz.  I think that he should be much more successful than Caio and Mehdi was in transitioning to the Bundesliga.

With this signing I think that we will see a much more crowded midfield which will slow down the opposition quite succesfully.  With no true forwards to speak of the counter attack will be of vital importance.  What do you think

I totally agree, I have mentioned this before in posts that the players we currently have dont match the system that Skibbe is trying to put in place.  These players were Funkel which relied on a more defensive approach.  Skibbe is moving everyone aroung to see if they can play in other positions and this is bound to have some bad results (i.e. Neverkusen).

Interesting that you mentioned that there are several people with expiring contracts. Do you know which ones?
#
Well I read today that Herr Skibbe is considering Himil Altintop, not to be confused with Hamit of Bayern (his twin brother). Anyone know anything about him  I think he plays CAM or Forward and had one good year at K'lautern.  He now plays with Schalke and has moderate success.

I too closely follow Eintracht, a bit too much of my life is affected by them and after Friday I was so distraught and my weekend was totally in the crapper.  Let’s just say that the pub had to keep the liquid refreshments flowing to alleviate the pain.  I am only coming to soccer websites today due to this!!!

Both of you have some valid points and I agree with a bunch of what you are saying but I think there is a couple of things that aren’t being said.  I think we all have to remember that players are only as good as a system in which they play in.  Under Funkel the system was extremely defensive and because of that you could get away with one striker and some complementary players. You score on the counter and then try and hold the lead I.e. Ugly Football!!!  The rest of the players were not really required to be all stars under Funkel and as a unit you can make up for that.  He signed players that fit his system.  Skibbe is trying to change the style of the play with players that don't fit the system so there are going to be times when they play extremely bad (i.e. neverkusen).  The defense against Leverkusen was so bad that just about everyone was not marked.  I think I could of made a run from the pub and put the ball on net     .  When Skibbe brings in players that fit his system I think that you are going to see a whole new team and hopefully they can compete for the title and spots in Europe.  By being able to compete year in and year out you will be able to keep players like Streit, Jones, and Sotiris because you will have more money to spend and they have the platform that they wish to compete on.  In addition, you can take a few more chances on youngsters that may work out instead of letting them go and develop someplace else (i.e. Marin).

Now with this said, I think there should be a good run over of the management and scouting departments from the top to bottom.  (As you will see, I am not a big fan of HB).  I mean how can you sign a player before even appointing a coach.  I believe it was Franz or Teber that was signed prior to the coach.  The coach should have final say on all players as it is his vision that we have entrusted for him to complete and this tells me a lot of the egos and who wants to be in control.  This is where Eintracht will have to re-evaluate  their strategy.  Maybe it is time to clear out the management as it doesn’t seem to be working.  Bring in new ideas of how things are run.  As for the scouting and youth systems, besides Sebastian Jung, there is not much in the pipeline for the near future and this is something that is vital to having success.  Fahrman (signed) and him are the future of the team.  I am sure that there may be others but these are the only ones that I hear about, it is harded to follow in the US.  Skibbe is right that we need to be careful or the stockpile will be nonexistent in no time at all.

I could go on but I think I have to do some work and let you guys read and reply to my comments.  I know that you will have some different opinions than mine so don't be to rough on me……  ,-)  ,-)  ,-)  ,-)

Knee injury rules Amanatidis out for a month
AFP - 2 November 2009

BERLIN (AFP) - Greece striker Ioannis Amanatidis is expected to be out for the next four weeks because of a knee injury, his Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt revealed on Monday.

The 27-year-old needs an operation on his right knee to remove damaged cartilage which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for the next four weeks.

"Ioannis will be out for a while, we don't know how long exactly, but we have a rough idea," said Frankfurt's chairman Heribert Bruchhagen.

Amanatidis missed Sunday's 2-1 Bundesliga win over Bochum which leaves his side ninth in the league.

Although it is not the end of the world, it really puts additional pressure on the front 3.

it was all a nightmare with hopefully a happy ending on Wed!!!

I think I disagree with your assessment.  In the CAM role it is important for the person to be able to distribute the ball and to create gaps for your forwards by running into space to create pressure on the Defense.  I don’t think it is as important to be the best ball handler in the world, passing ability and vision is the key attributes to the CAM role.  In addition, a CAM is responsible for following the play of the forwards to „pick up the scraps“I.e. score goals off of back passes, deflections, and rebounds.  Alex can play this role and be very good at it.  I am not trying to say that he will be the best CAM in the bundesliga but I think from the players that we have he is the most capable of playing that position.  There are only so many Diego’s & Misimovic's in the world.
Forwards and wingers are the ones that need to have the footwork skills as they need to be able to control the ball and in case of the wingers be able to take the ball up the wings.  I do not believe the Meier is his natural position, he just does not have the killer mentality in front of the net like Ama.  You know that if he is in the position to score he is going to score most of the time.
I agree that Lincoln can play the position and would make Skibbe happy but then what do you do with Meier and Fenin, Libero, etc.
#
I to have seen this news that Lincoln is being looked at again.  I just dont understand what is going on.  It seems the Skibbe is unsettled at the CAM role but we already have a perfect player for that and the is not Lincoln or Caio.  It is Meier.  I know that Meier has been playing forward but I thought that was due to Fenin's injury (??).  When Fenin returns, Meier should slide back in the CAM role and there is no need for Lincoln or am I missing something.

Does Skibbe not like Fenin at all?
Is Meier be the forward going forward?

If that is the case sell Fenin and these rumours make sense then.  Is there something that I am missing.

There is another way that a player can be suspended.  If there is a situation that would have been a foul and there is no card given by the ref.  The DFL can review the footage and suspend or fine the individual involved. Again, this can only happen if no punishment would be dolled out in the game.

As for suspending the player for the return match, what comes aroung goes around so suspend them and let the cards fly.  We will sometimes get the benefit of the player getting cards prior to our game so I think the way they have it is ok plus as Shobberobber has pointed, it would be very difficult to enforce.

Lastly, as for the refs, I remember somewhere that the World cup will have four linesman and one ref to screw up the matches but nothing about the goal ref.  The goal ref seems stupid as there is technology already to be implemented that could resolve this issue.  The powers that be dont want to implement it.  Something needs to be done as I have seen on two times when Bayern profited from goals not being goals.  Hmmmm....

and as the situation at the end of the season seems to be repeating itself, so to does the games.  Schalke 2 - Eintracht 0

This must have been exciting to watch.....

Eintracht Frankfurt and Alemannia Aachen contested one of the most exciting cup ties in years at the Commerzbank Arena, with the hosts coming out on top in an end-to-end, ten-goal thriller.

Brazilian playmaker Caio opened the scoring for Michael Skibbe's side in the first minute, dispossessing Aachen defender Seyi Olajenbesi before finishing at the second attempt after his first effort was blocked. Only five minutes had passed when Greek striker Nikos Liberopoulos doubled the lead, heading an Aleksandar Vasoski header over the line.

Half-time lead

Babacar Gueye pulled Aachen back into the game, nodding in after seeing his initial header saved superbly by Frankfurt keeper Oka Nikolov, but the visitors' joy was short-lived as a Lukasz Szukala own-goal on the stroke of half time restored the hosts' two-goal lead.

Down, but not out

Liberopoulos grabbed his second and Frankfurt's fourth five minutes after the restart, finishing at the far post after a low cross from the right by Selim Teber. Alexander Meier then seemingly put the game beyond the realms of the comeback, profiting from the remnants of a long-range Caio effort.

Aachen were down, but certainly not out, and began what appeared like it might be one of the great all-time comebacks when Benjamin Auer finished coolly past Nikolov following a Herve Oussalé pass. Seven minutes later and the deficit was reduced to two, Auer again the scorer from a Timo Achenbach cross from the left.

Tense finish

With just three minutes remaining, Gueye pulled another one back to set up a tense finale, but a penalty in the dying seconds from Teber rounded off the scoring at a perfect ten and ensured Frankfurt's progression into round three.

Aachen can take solace from their team's spirited fightback and goalscoring display, though new coach Michael Krüger will surely swap such entertaining football for a run of 2. Bundesliga victories from hereon in.

Congratulations, we (CJ24 and I) are working to create a similar Fanclub in the USA!!!
#
I too would like to see talented players play but as Tim alluded to and what he didnt allude to is that it is the manager discretion who plays and who does not.  Just ask Caio about that from last year

Another is who would sit, they are playing well and are competitive in everygame so far this year so I dont think there is alot to say on behalf of Umit and Markus.  If Umit or Markus would get the start this weekend they would have the opportunity to show their worth and then would solidify his position.

CJ, I will be sending my info again for the fan club tonight!!!  ,-)  ,-)  ,-)

Hey this is a good idea, I like it alot and thought that you could do alot more that just interview players.  Maybe do clubhouse or stadium tours or even the Eintracht Museum.  You could even interview some fans from abroad.  Keep up the good work as anyway that I can get information I can feed my eintract addiction is a good thing.

The French defender has returned to his native country on a temporary basis...

Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have parted company with versatile defender Habib Bellaid, who has signed a loan deal until the end of the season at French Ligue 2 side Strasbourg.

The young defender joined Frankfurt from Strasbourg in the summer of 2008 for a fee in the region of €2.5 million. However, Bellaid failed to make a great impact at the Bundesliga side.

The former France Under-21 star made 22 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt last term, but chances of him getting regular first team football this campaign were slim due to the arrival of head coach Michael Skibbe.

The player asked to leave the club and Strasbourg were happy to take the defender back. The Ligue 2 outfit see Bellaid as a key player in their attempt to return to the top flight.
