I'll put my head on the block and say I can't see UEFA allowing it to happen. Nothing is allowed to compete with the Champions League TV franchise.
We had to play Hamburg forty hours after playing Brondby away in the last round.
Having said that I'd have a better chance of getting to the game if it's on the Wednesday.

Hi GeordieBoy,
The match has a late kick off and you're arriving early in the afternoon? If that's the case then SGE77 is dead right. Get an S-Bahn to the main station and have a gargle in O'Reilly's. The city centre has very few bars and in the nightlife areas, nothing opens before six or so.
From there you can either get a tram (No.21) or an S-Bahn to the Waldstadion. After the game head, back into the main station, your match ticket includes free public transport, BTW. If you want to sample a bit of traditional Frankfurt nightlife, it's probably easier and cheaper to get a taxi from there to Alt Sachsenhausen.
You'll need to get a taxi to the airport as public transport shuts down early in Franfurt. Luckily the bars don't! Hope yiz enjoy yourselves.

This is one really tough group. The only good thing for us is that the other teams will be taking points off each other as well, and the first three go through - so we have a fighting chance of making the last 32.
Anyway, it's loads more fun than slumming it around the bottom of the 2. Liga, which is where we were only two short years ago.
Happy days!

After receiving a couple of drunken SMS from Copenhagen, a question struck me: have we ever gone into October unbeaten before?
I'm sure I can trawl through Kicker and then ask loads of sore heads when they wake up tomorrow afternoon, but maybe one of you know the answer.

For anyone who can't get their fix in the Desperateimmobilienfondsarena tomorrow, here's a souvenir from Berlin:

Now that Jones has been hit with a three match ban, maybe it's time to give Cimen a chance. He is a fine young player who I think can easily make the step up to the top flight. I'd be inclined to stick with two up front with question marks over Meier and van Lent. I don't think there is anything to be lost by playing Weißenberger. I'd like to see Copado get a run as well, but maybe van Lent needed the Munich game and will improve for it.
Any other opinions?

Having said all that, I don't think we'll find any consistency until Jermaine Jones or Chris returns. We're just too toothless in midfield without either of them. Huggel is a poser and Fink strikes me as a failed centre half. Maybe we'd be better off moving Vassi into midfield. He has good vision and he distrbutes well. He has a very good motor and could cover the pitch. Anything is worth a try, you couldn't disimprove on our performance in central midfield at the moment.
